Privacy Policy for Noorly

Last updated: July 26, 2026

Noorly ("the app") is built to work fully offline and does not require an account.

Data we collect

We do not operate a backend server, and we do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us.

Third-party content services

To provide Quran text, translations, recitation audio, and hadith content, the app fetches data directly from these free, public, third-party APIs over the internet:

These requests fetch public religious content only. We do not send your identity or any personal data to these services, and we do not send your location to them (the only service that receives your coordinates is the Overpass mosque lookup described above, and only when you use that feature). Standard network metadata (such as your IP address) may be visible to these third-party providers as with any internet request, subject to their own privacy practices. Once fetched, content is cached on your device so it works offline afterward.

City search

If you set your location by choosing a city instead of using GPS, the text you type is sent to the Open-Meteo Geocoding API so it can return matching places. Your device coordinates are not sent to this service, and the request only happens while you are typing in the city field. Open-Meteo is an independent service with its own privacy practices; we receive nothing back beyond the list of matching cities.

Notifications

Prayer time reminders are scheduled and delivered locally on your device. No notification data is sent to or from a server.

Children's privacy

Noorly does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.
